Kings go to IPEX 2017!
Last month, one of the biggest events in the print calendar descended on Birmingham's NEC Arena for the first time with the return of IPEX. The new look event will now take place every three years, celebrating the industry's rich history and evolving technology across a four day exhibition.
Opening its doors to the biggest names in print, it’s a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the latest products available on the market.
Arriving at IPEX!
The show offered a chance to look back on the rich history of print, dating all the way back to the 12th Century when paper making reached Europe and the first techniques were developed. The first printing press in England was established at Westminster and by the end of the 15th Century, printing had been established in 250 European cities!

We saw Ricoh's revolutionary garment printer, the Ricoh ri6000 which launched in May 2017, work its magic on a range of different materials, including t-shirts. The printer can print on materials ranging from 100% cotton and 100% light polyester to mixed polyester garments up to 50/50 blends; the system also incorporates Ricoh piezo-electric printhead techology.

The event also provides a great opportunity for finishers, as well as printers, to showcase their products. We were lucky enough to have our own notebooks made for us by the lovely team at the Opus stand, complete with personalised foiling on the cover!
