This week saw one of the biggest events in the print industry calendar descend on Birmingham's NEC Arena to celebrate the power of print across the three day exhibition. Opening its doors to the biggest names in print, The Print Show is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with the latest technology and new kit available on the market.

On the first day, the event kicked off with a Celebrity Speaker Q & A session with the inspiring British explorer, Sir Ranulph Fiennes. He answered questions from the audience before completing a signing with Print Show attendees. Over the course of the three day event, further Celebrity Speakers included TV host Gregg Wallace and professional boxer Chris Eubank.

The highly productive 3.2 wide printer is equipped with four advanced high-speed printheads arranged to ensure resolutions of up to 1,200dpi and print speeds at up to 137m²/h. The printer also uses Mimaki CS100 eco-solvent based ink, available in CMYK configuration and with a capacity of 3 litres per colour.

Our consultant Vidya also visited the HP stand to see its new Stitch S series digital textile printing technology showcased in the UK for the first time. The Stitch S series, which was only released to the market in April this year, was the main attraction on the HP stand. The range comprises the HP Stitch S300 and S500 64" models, as well as the larger HP Stitch S1000 126" option. Each printer uses HP's Thermal Inkjet technology with industry-standard dyes for superior colour durability. HP's DesignJet machines also featured on the HP stand for the first time at a UK trade show.
